“I have to crown Avast as the overall best free antivirus for, among other reasons, having excellent virus and spyware detection rates according to antivirus test results from AV-Test.org.
Avast antivirus manages to provide a simple and functional user interface, while also being very customizable and feature complete. The active protection feature monitors seven different ways that a virus could enter your computer, including Web browsing, email, file sharing, and more.
Avast also features scanning on boot up if you choose to do so. That’s something you don’t want to do on every boot as it takes quite a while. However, if you suspect you have been exposed to a virus or spyware it is the best way to detect and remove active infections.”
just use the default windows firewall and don’t install anti virus
once you install anti virus, your laptop will never be the same again, they will not stop sending you virus so you will be force to buy and buy and buy anti virus.
you may download just the “advance system care” trial version,
or you may just do system restore and disc clean up in case laptop misbehave.
anti virus don not really remove virus, it will just hide it to impress user,
they will force you to buy or else they send you virus, sometimes they will trick you to something that later you will see you got virus inside you computer,
anti virus vendor will not remove virus inside computer, they will go out of business if they remove it..
virus will just go around and around your computer, and they will ask you to pay and pay..
learn the trick to get away from virus,
if you don’t like virus living inside your computer, use linux
I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Three sites you can use safely.
Anti-virus: Avira Anti-virus
Firewall: Try Comodo.
