I don’t know about them, but I’m studying in a Computer Systems Technician program, and the entirety of the student population in the program uses AVG.
Honestly? Anti-virus programs really slow down compile and link times, so a lot of us don’t use anything at all. It annoys the crap out of the guys in the IT department no end!
elite hackers as you said are also using the same antivirus as others do. there is no such good antivirus or internet security that can really protect your PC from the outside intruder as these people can enter whatever firewall or security you have. it’s only about the timing when and how can an intruder gets into your PC. their intellectual techniques/ability/skills. sometimes different programs to be used to comply the hacking. in short, the hackers build and they can crack as well so as to know how to protect well their computers.
