How Do I Remove Rapid Antivirus Related Processes?

by Virus Help on July 2, 2011

I have used SmitFraudFix to remove the Malware known as Rapid Antivirus. I have used it before in similar situations and it has worked. The problem is that this time I thought that the program has removed any bad processes but the dialog boxes related to the removed program keep coming up. Does anyone have an idea on how to remove them?

Yes, use Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and it’s free to use like SmitfraudFix. It has wealth of information about this rogue – RapidAntivirus inside the link. It will remove the pop ups relating to the rogue.

Start at “Automated Removal Instructions for RapidAntivirus using Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware:”

Install Spybot search and destroy.
Update spybot’s spyware database and do a scan on your hard drive.
Remove spyware/adware/trojans that are found

Rapid Antivirus is a rogue-antispyware program that tries to trick users into buying full version of this malware by showing fake security warnings and alerts. Rapid Antivirus promotes itself using special trojan horse that produces false Windows-like alert messages designed to prompt the user to download Rapid Antivirus. After installing this malware will start to generate fake alert messages and pop-up’s. Rapid Antivirus may block access to some web sites and may even prevent any attempts to connect to the Internet. This is a very high risk malware and should be removed immediately as to prevent harm to your computer or your privacy.
