Can a Computer Virus Be Spread by the Mouse or Only by File Data?

My mouse was used on a computer that was infected. I like the mouse's way it works. Will it carry/transfer virus' to the new computer?

Paul M February 24, 2011 at 8:14 pm: No, your mouse is safe. However, if you are going to transfer any files from the old computer, do a right click and scan with your AV before opening and saving.

You can connect your mouse to infected computer and then back to new computer. It will not carry Virus

However virus can spread by hardware that stores some data, like CD, DVD, Pen drive, Camera, Hard disk or floppy disk etc
So dont use these devices on infected computer
